Hamilton backs Mercedes to recover from tyre-test ban in time for Hungarian GP

London: Formula One ace Lewis Hamilton has said that he believes that his Mercedes team can recover from their tyre-test ban in time for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

The Brackley-based were barred from last week`s young driver test at Silverstone, where Pirelli`s new tyres had their first outing, The Sun reports.

Stating that he and his team have got in a lot of laps, the Brit said that the laps were positive and gave them a lot of information to look at, although he added that they needed to work on the right set-up as the balance felt different.

However, Hamilton also said that they have learnt over the course of the day, made some changes and will make more for the race on Sunday.

According to Hamilton, even though it is difficult to know how the weekend will go for Mercedes, he hoped that they could generally pull more out in qualifying.
