38th National Games in Kerala next year

Thrissur (Kerala): The 38th National Games will be held in Kerala next year and four disciplines as weightlifting, judo, boxing and women`s football would be staged here, National Selection Committee Chairman P J Sunny said Monday.

Speaking to reporters here, he said these four events would be held in the city, while basketball would be staged in Kannur, where work on the stadium has been in progress. He said all arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the Games and approval was awaited from Indian Olympic Association. Sunny said the Centre had granted about Rs 500 crore for the Games and infrastructural work was progressing well at all locations.
