BFI picks Lusofania Games probables for camp in Mumbai
The Basketball Federation of India (BFI) has picked 16 men and as many women probables for the upcoming Lusofania Games in Goa.

Mumbai: The Basketball Federation of India (BFI) has picked 16 men and as many women probables for the upcoming Lusofania Games in Goa.
The camp will be held at the Don Bosco school in Matunga and the probables will undergo a training camp here from January 10-18. Most of the probables of the Goa India team, that will take part in the 3rd Lusofania Games from January 23-27, would also be playing for their respective units in the Savio Cup conducted by Don Bosco to give them adequate exposure before the international competition, a BFI release said here today.
Savio Cup would also be featuring an international team from the USA. After the completion of training, the selected players from the senior men and women`s teams will leave for Goa on January 19 for the event organised by the ACOLOP (Associa??o dos Comit?s Ol?mpicos de L?ngua Oficial Portuguesa), an Olympic-related non-profit body.
The Games involve countries belonging to the CPLP (Community of Portuguese Language Countries) and others where there are significant Portuguese communities.
The first two editions were held in Macau and Lisbon in 2006 and 2009, respectively. Apart from basketball, the third edition will have other sporting disciplines like athletics, beach volleyball, football, table tennis, taekwondo and volleyball. BFI is providing technical support for the basketball event at the Games.
