New York: The NBA`S Milwaukee Bucks have reached a deal with Brooklyn to make Jason Kidd their next coach, ending Kidd`s tenure with the Nets after just one season, US media reported Monday.
Sports network ESPN and USA Today reported that the Nets would receive two second-round draft picks from the Bucks in the deal, the first one coming in 2015.
When reports of the deal surfaced, the Bucks had yet to dismiss current coach Larry Drew.
But Drew appeared to be on his way out over the weekend, when Kidd was given the green light by the Nets to negotiate with Milwaukee.
The Nets had denied Kidd`s request to expand his powers with their organization to become both coach and head of basketball operations.
Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov cited a lack of experience for the 41-year-old Kidd, who made his National Basketball Association coaching debut last season shortly after ending his playing career.
The former Nets player led Brooklyn into the second round of the playoffs in his first season behind the bench.
Milwaukee finished the 2013-14 season with a league-worst record of 15-67. They had the second selection in the NBA draft last week, landing a potential superstar in Duke University forward Jabari Parker.
