 Former world outdoor champion Kim Collins, who celebrates his 39th birthday in April, won the men`s 60m in a world-leading time of 6.48sec at the Russian Winter indoor meet Sunday.

Moscow: Former world outdoor champion Kim Collins, who celebrates his 39th birthday in April, won the men`s 60m in a world-leading time of 6.48sec at the Russian Winter indoor meet Sunday. 

The evergreen St Kitts and Nevis sprinter had already clocked 6.52sec in winning the Dusseldorf event on Thursday.

"I`ll start nine more events this season," Collins, the 2003 world champion, said.

"It`s a serious challenge for me and I`m taking every new start as if it`s my last."

American Mike Rodgers, who served a nine-month doping ban in 2011 and was third in Germany behind Collins, was second Sunday in a time of 6.56sec. Yunier Perez of Cuba came third, 0.05sec further back.

Ukraine`s Olesya Povkh won the women`s 60m in 7.27sec, 0.1 sec faster than second-placed Kristina Sivkova of Russia. Yekaterina Gonchar of Belarus was third with a time of 7.42sec.

Cuba`s 2008 Olympic 110m hurdles champion Dayron Robles and local favourite Konstantin Shabanov clocked the same time in the 60m hurdles with 7.69sec. 

Czech Petr Svoboda was third in 7.75sec.

Kenya dominated the men`s 1,500m with Vincent Kibet winning in a personal best of 3min 37.79sec, just 0.02sec ahead of second-placed Bethwell Birgen. Silas Kiplagat was third in 3:38.28.

European silver medallist Louis Tsatoumas of Greece won the men`s long jump with 8.05m, while Russia`s Yekaterina Koneva triumphed in the women`s event with 6.82m.

In high jump, world indoor champion Kamila Licwinko of Poland won in a meet record of 2.01m.

"I feel I`m in good shape and I`m happy to win here," Licwinko said. "And of course I`m happy to set up a new record." 

Russia`s Dmitry Semenov cleared 2.31m to win the men`s high jump.
