Hooda fetes shuttler Saina Nehwal

Nehwal on winning the Singapore Super Series badminton championship. Hooda said Saina has brought laurels to the state and the country by winning the second Super Series title of her career. "We all are proud of her. I hope she will continue to achieve greater success in life by winning more medals at the international level," Hooda said here. Top seed Saina took just 33 minutes to beat Chinese Taipei`s Tzu Ying Tai 21-18 21-15 in the finals at the Singapore Indoor Stadium here today. Saina was born in Hisar district of the state. Her father is a scientist and both her parents were former state badminton champions. The shuttler along with her parents is currently based in Hyderabad. PTI
