New Delhi: Indian hoopsters pipped Bangladesh 63-31 to register their third victory in the FIBA Asia Under-18 Championships Qualifying tournament at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium on Sunday.
India dominated the proceedings right from the beginning and were on top until Bangladesh made a comeback in the third quarter, but that proved to be inconsequential in the end result as the hosts won the fourth quarter easily to go pass the visitors.
The home side took a 20-9 lead in the first quarter and were relentless in the second with a scoreline of 19-3.
However, the visitors made a comeback in the third quarter with a score of 9-8, but that did not prove enough as Indian spikers won the fourth quarter 16-10 to complete the formalities.
Preet Pal Singh scored 18 points for India while Rakest contributed 14.
In another match, Sri Lanka beat Nepal 64-47.
