India outsmart Germany, Australia crush Nepal in Kabaddi WC

The second edition of the Kabaddi World Cup began with India`s dominating 70-18 win over Germany while Australia crushed Nepal 68-23, on Wednesday.

Faridkot (Punjab): The second edition of the Kabaddi World Cup began with India`s dominating 70-18 win over Germany while Australia crushed Nepal 68-23, on Wednesday.
India skipper Sukhbir Singh Sarawan scored nine points as hosts led 32-7 at the interval. Apart from Sarwan, Dulla Surkhpuria and Ragi Kheawal also scored nine points each.
Stopper Ekem Hanoor got eight stops. Mangat Mangi got five and Gurvinder four stops in India`s . Australia were 36-6 in the half time and maintained its dominance over Nepal, which is playing for the first time in the tournament. Australia`s four raiders -- Sony Koinke, Gurpreet Singh, Pindri Badhani and Romi Lalto -- scored nine points each whereas Australian stopper Davinder made his mark by 6 stops. Nepals raider Naval scored seven points. The tournament is featuring 14 teams this year. Canada outplayed Afganistan 63-15 in another encounter. PTI
