New Delhi: Ace Indian gymnast Dipa Karmakar, who made the country proud with her breathtaking Produnova act in Rio Olympics 2016, has finally decided to return her BWM handed over to her by none other than Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar.
Dipa didn't win a medal at the biggest sporting extravaganza, but as a result of her commendable performance, she was handed over a swanky BMW along with other Rio stars – PV Sindhu, Sakshi Malik and Pullela Gopichand.
Dipa, who became the first Indian gymnast to qualify for an Olympic finals event, took to Twitter on Wednesday night to reveal the actual reason behind her decision to return the car.
In her tweet, Dipa said, "Very thankful to Sachin sir for gifting me BMW but cannot maintain in tripura, so giving back. Thank you for agreeing to give funds for it."

India`s goodwill ambassador at the Rio Olympics, Tendulkar, handed over the keys of the luxury cars to the four sportspersons at a function held at the Gopichand Badminton Academy soon after they returned from Rio in August.
Dipa is said to have spoken to V. Chamundeshwarnath, president of the Hyderabad Badminton Association and the sponsor of the car, who suggested giving her an amount equivalent of the car.
Even though Sachin handed over the keys of the cars, they were actually sponsored by businessman V. Chamundeshwarnath, who besides being president of the Hyderabad Badminton Association, is also one of Tendulkar's friends.
