Ranchi: Karnataka`s P Rekha Devi outclassed Shristi Singh of Uttar Pradesh to win the under-62kg gold in the women`s Taekwondo event of the 34th National Games here on Monday.

Though Singh fought spiritedly, she had to settle for a silver medal as Devi’s face kicks fetched her more points and Singh relied more on chest kicks.

In the men`s under-87kg Taekwondo final, SSCB`s Ibrahim Khan thrashed Manipal Singh (MP) to clinch the first gold medal for his team.

Jharkhand`s Fani Bhusan Prasad and Punjab`s Dinesh Kumar Bhati won the bronze medals in the event.
