Paulose, Sreedharan among 650 athletes for Nat Open Athletics

Indian middle distance runner Sinimol Paulose and Preeja Sreedharan are among the 650 contestants who will vie for top honours in the National Open Athletics Championships to be held here from May 15-18.

who will vie for top honours in the National Open Athletics Championships to be held here from May 15-18. Railways will try to defend the overall title which they won in 2008. Paulose, who will represent Jharkhand, and S R Bindu of Railways will participate in the 800m and 1500m events. Besides them, the other noted athletes participating in the competition include Sreedharan (5000/10000m), Mayookha Johny (long jump and triple jump), Seema Antil (discus), Tintu Luka (800m), Kavitha Rawat (1500/5000m). In the men`s section, international Ranjith Maheswari (triple jump), KM Binu (400m), Om Prakash (shot put), PJ Vinod (decathlon), C Hamza (1500m) are among the prominent athletes to be seen in action.
