New Delhi: India's premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is known to be full of passion, both on and off the field.
When he is not winning matches for the Indian team, the offie makes sure to motivate other sportspersons by lauding their performances on social micro-blogging site Twitter.
Also, when it comes to social media banter, there is no holding back Ashwin. We have seen that in numerous press conferences where he has shot back at reporters with witty responses.
A similar sight was witnessed on Twitter when a Pakistani tried to mock India's medal tally at Rio Paralympics.
Soon after Deepa Malik became the first Indian woman to win a medal at Paralympics, Ashwin took to Twitter to post this tweet:
So these exceptionally talented men and women continue to inspire the nation.Well done #DeepaMalik #legend — Ashwin Ravichandran (@ashwinravi99) September 13, 2016
In response to his Tweet, a Pakistani fan tried to have a dig at India's medal tally by comparing it with the country's population.
1.2 billion population and just 4 medals. LOL https://t.co/ZVpJ9cEG3F — Affan (@mufc_affanf9) September 14, 2016
However, he had no idea that Ashwin would give a brilliant response to him.
Without losing his cool, Ashwin clean bowled the Pakistani with this gem of a response.
@mufc_affanf9 ranked as high as no 6 in the population chart, I wish you to go for the second medal. All the best brothers and sisters. — Ashwin Ravichandran (@ashwinravi99) September 14, 2016
Ashwin was referring to Pakistan's position in the world population and reminding the user of his country's Rio Paralympics medal count, a single bronze.
India's 19-member contingent has put up a great show at Rio where they have already clinched four medals at Paralympics.
