Recurve archers disappoint

Kolkata: Fancied recurve archers flopped once again as India had a lean day in the individual events of the 17th Asian Archery Championship in Tehran on Sunday.

According to information received here, all the eight Indian men archers failed to make it to the podium. Service`s compound archer, Chittibomma Jignas, was the lone Indian to make an impact when he won the bronze medal, but went down to Lihong Min of Korea 140-143.

The four recurve archers failed to go past the pre-quarterfinal stage.
