SAF junior TT championship in June

Top paddlers from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and hosts India would take part in the 12th South Asian Federation (SAF) Junior Table Tennis Championship to be held here in June.

Shillong: Top paddlers from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and hosts India would take part in the 12th South Asian Federation (SAF) Junior Table Tennis Championship to be held here in June.
Announcing this, Meghalaya Table Tennis Association president R G Lyngdoh said, "The Table Tennis Federation of India has consented to have Meghalaya host the championship scheduled from June 17-19." The tourney will be held at the Indoor Stadium of the J N Sports Complex at Polo ground here. Chief Minister Mukul Sangma welcomed the idea of hosting the international event. "Hosting such a tournament of this magnitude, the first of its kind in North East, would not only be a pride for the state but it will also boost up Meghalaya in term of promoting Meghalaya as an ideal locale for sports," he said. In the past, Meghalaya had hosted National level Table Tennis tournaments in 2005 and 2007. PTI
