Usain Bolt wins 100 meters in 9.79 seconds in Oslo

Oslo: Usain Bolt recovered from a poor start to win the 100 meters in 9.79 seconds Thursday, finishing 0.06 seconds ahead of Asafa Powell at a Diamond League meet.

Lerone Clarke was next at 10.10, completing a 1-2-3 sweep for Jamaica.

Bolt, a three-time Olympic champion, overtook Powell in the closing stages and remains undefeated in 2012. Bolt hasn`t lost since failing to defend his gold at the 2011 world championships in South Korea after being disqualified in the final for a false start.

World champion Sally Pearson won the 100-meter hurdles, finishing in a season-best 12.49 seconds. The Australian was making her European debut this year.

She was followed by Kristi Castlin of the U.S. in 12.56 and Tiffani Porter of Britain in 12.70. Americans Lolo Jones and Danielle Carruthers finished fifth and sixth.
