After a solid opening by RAW, Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan needed to pull off something special.

Here is what happened on July 26...

SmackDown started with Shane and Bryan in the ring with the entire roster. The duo announced a Six Pack Challenge to select Dean Ambrose's SummerSlam challenger. John Cena, Bray Wyatt, Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin and AJ Styles were the five participants, with a sixth selected through a battle royal.

1. Apollo Crews emerged victorious in a battle royal to earn a spot in the Six Pack Challenge match.

2. Becky Lynch beat Natalya in what was a re-match from Sunday’s Battleground PPV. Post the match, Alexa Bliss, Naomi, Carmella and Eva Marie indulged in some trash-talk for women’s division supremacy.

3. Miz's attempt to interview himself for MizTV was cut short by Randy Orton. After Orton's insults to the WWE Intercontinental champion, his wife Maryse accepted a challenge for a non-title match on Miz’s behalf. Orton won the match with not one but two RKOs

4. NXT call-ups American Alpha will debut on SmackDown debut next week. Spectators were shown a short video, explaining the rise of this tag team.

5. Heath Slater, terming himself as the hottest free agent in the business, demanded Shane to sign him. As the latter came out to address him, Slater was Gored by Rhyno who was hiding under the ring.

6. Dolph Ziggler became the No. 1 contender for the WWE championship, as he won the Six Pack Challenge. He will take on Dean Ambrose at WWE SummerSlam 2016 with the title on the line.
