New Delhi: The news of Yogeshwar Dutt's London 2012 medal lifted spirits of Indian fans after the disappointment at Rio.

Interestingly, this isn't the first time an Indian athlete was awarded a medal upgrade at a major event.
In 2005, Anju Bobby George finished second with a leap of 6.75m at the at the IAAF World Athletics final in Monte Carlo.
However, the silver was upgraded to gold after Russian long jumper Tatyana Kotova was stripped of the top sport following a dope violation.
