New Delhi: You really can't become one of the greatest Olympic athlete of all time without the right diet. Michael Phelps, who recently broke the 2,000-year-old record by winning his 22nd Gold medal at the Olympics, takes a staggering 12,500 Kcal diet.

An average human being consumes around 2500 calories a day, which is 5 times less than what the Swimming legend takes.

Phelps is known to swim around 50 miles every week, exercising for 5-6 hours a day, and this can only be achieved by eating such a huge calorific food.

Breakfast-

Big bowl of porridge covered with blueberries: 500 kcal

Three thick slices of French toast smothered in powdered sugar: 650 kcal

Three large chocolate chip pancakes: 600 kcal

Five-egg omelette: 600 kcal

Three grilled cheese and fried egg sandwiches: 1000 kcal

Two cups of coffee

Meal total: 3350 kcal

Lunch-

Two large ham and cheese sandwiches on thickly-sliced white bread with extra mayo: 1000 kcal

One pound of pasta and tomato sauce: 1500 kcal

Meal total: 2500 kcal

Dinner-

One 16-inch pepperoni pizza: 3840 kcal

One pound of pasta and tomato sauce: 1500 kcal

Meal total: 5340 kcal
