SHOCKING! This film director wants to 'spit' on PV Sindhu's achievement in Rio Olympics

New Delhi: Director of award-winning Malayalam film Ozhivu Divasathe Kali, Sanal Kumar Sasidharan, has been facing severe criticism ever since he posted something extremely weird about India's Olympic Silver medalist PV Sindhu's feat. (Did Sanal Sasidharan actually try to humiliate PV Sindhu with 'spit' remark? Here's the truth..)

While the entire country was lauding Sindhu's feat, he took to Facebook to write a post which read, "Everyone is celebrating Sindhu's achievement now. What if I spit on this? What is there to celebrate much about it?

His statement created a huge outrage on social media where fans slammed the director for his remark.

Sanal later explained that his remark was a part of black humour and the people who are cursing him failed to understand the true meaning of his words.

Notably, PV Sindhu became the first Indian shuttler to make it through to the final of an Olympics and settled for a Silver after losing to Carolina Marin in women's singles final.

She arrived in Hyderabad on Monday where she was given a wonderful felicitation by the Telangana government.

At 21, Sindhu is also the youngest Indian to win a medal at the Olympics.
