Oprah still unable to launch ‘OWN’ channel

The launch of Oprah`s TV channel, Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN)has been stalled.

London: Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey has come across problems that have stalled the launch of her TV channel, Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). Winfrey, 55, has been trying for two years to get the channel, a station full of “uplifting” shows, on air in America, but still has no start date and no programmes.
No public statements have been made about the channel’s future plans, which has left advertisers baffled. “It’s kind of like the Death Star over there – not a lot is coming out,” the Daily Express quoted Brent Poer, head of advertising buying firm MediaVest, as saying. He thinks that Oprah’s new management team is taking its time to get everything right. “The worst thing that could happen would be to show everyone the baby and then everyone says the baby’s ugly,” he said. He added: “They are simply saying, ‘Let’s not give birth yet’.” ANI
