New Delhi: Suraj Rajkumar and Naveen claimed a gold each in their respective weight categories as Indian grapplers consolidated their position by winning a total of five medals on the third and penultimate day of the Asian Cadet Wrestling Championship here on Saturday.

Besides two yellow metals, Indians won two silver and a bronze out of the eight categories.

In final bouts in Men's Freestyle, Naveen defeated Uzbekistan's Rakhmonov Abbos 5-0 in 54kg category, while Rajkumar got the better of Abubakri Jamshed of Tajikistan 12-2 in 63kg division to clinch the top prizes.

In the Female Wrestling, Reena and Nisha lost out on a gold-medal finish by going down to their respective opponents in the final bouts.

In 52kg, Reena lost to Japanese girl Okuno Haruna 0-7, while Nisha went down to Uzbek wrestler Esenbaea Nabira 0-4 in 60kg to settle for a silver each.

Meanwhile, Sajan bagged a bronze for the country in 76kg Greco-Roman.

India, however, returned empty handed in 58kg Men's Freestyle, 56kg Female Wrestling, and 69kg Greco-Roman categories.
