Montpellier: Gael Monfils saw off fellow Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 7-6,2-6,6-4 on Saturday to set up a final clash with Croatian Ivan Ljubicic at the Open Sud de France.

Ljubicic, the fourth seed, served 18 aces to beat Spaniard Albert Montanes 6-3,7-6 and advance into Sunday`s showdown.

Monfils, seeded third, needed only one break to prevail against the big-serving Tsonga, the second seed.

He snatched the opening set by taking the tiebreak 7-2 but a lapse in concentration gave Tsonga the second only for Monfils to break early in the decider and hold serve to wrap up the win in one hour and 46 minutes.
