New Delhi: Sania Mirza, who created history by becoming the world number one in tennis doubles on Sunday, was congratulated heartily by PM Narendra Modi.
Apart from Mr. Modi, several of the country's top sportsmen including superstar cricketer Virat Kohli took to micro-blogging site Twitter to send across their good wishes to Mirza.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi also congratulated Sania Mirza for achieving World No 1 ranking in women's doubles and applauded her commitment and determination.
In her message, Gandhi said Mirza has made the entire nation proud.
Sania along with her partner Martina Hingis beat Casey Dellacqua and Darija Jurak 6-0, 6-4 to win the title and scale the summit of the doubles rankings.
