New Delhi: India's Rohan Bopanna and his partner Florin Mergea qualified for the summit of the ATP World Tour Finals 2015.

The duo beat Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo 6-4, 6-2 in the semi-final in London's O2 Arena.

The pair have been in some very good form in the tournament and had earlier overcome the Bryan Brothers. Interestingly the indo-Romanian pair had failed to win their last Group stage match as they lost to Fabio Fognini and Simone Bolelli.

The win gives Rohan Bopanna and his partner a chance to win their first ATP Tour Finals trophy.

Interestingly, no Indian has ever won the elite tournament. Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes reached the final of the tournament thrice in 1997, 1999 and 2000, losing all three contests. Bopanna has earlier lost in 2012.
