Stosur ousted in 2nd round at Brisbane

Brisbane: Sam Stosur`s first tournament on home soil since winning the US Open ended in an upset second-round loss to Iveta Benesova at the Brisbane International on Wednesday.

Top-seeded Stosur was broken in the crucial seventh game and dropped serve twice in the second set of a 6-4, 6-2 defeat — her first loss in five matches against the 28-year-old Czech. The No. 54-ranked Benesova advances to the quarterfinals, where she`ll meet Australian Open champion Kim Clijsters. The loss continued a disappointing run in her home tournament for Stosur, who was also ousted in the second round last year when seeded No. 1.
