London: British tennis star Andy Murray would take some time off from tennis after defeat in the Wimbledon final at the hands of Swiss great Roger Federer.

Murray suffered bruises all over his body during the final and also throughout the competition, and now he won’t be back on the tennis court this week at least.

The Scot was hoping to become the first British man to win the title since Fred Perry in 1936, but it was Federer who made history, equaling Pete Sampras’ record of seven Wimbledon titles.

“Until my mind is right. There’s no point in going on the court until I’m ready to go out there and learn and work hard and do the right things in the gym and in practice because there’s just no point,” The Daily Express quoted Murray, as saying.

“So I``ll wait and see how my body recovers after the next few days. I fell a lot of times this tournament. I got a lot of bruises all over my body and stuff. So I need to take a few days off, let everything heal, recover, and then see. But I won’t be on the court next week, that’s for sure,” he added.
