Wimbledon: It wasn’t a great start for the seven-time French Open champion at Wimbledon 2012 as he had to work hard to defeat Thomaz Bellucci in his opening match. Nadal won the match 7-6, 6-2, 6-3, but it wasn’t the kind of start he would would have preferred at the prestigious grand slam.
Two time Wimbledon winner Rafael Nadal moved to the second round of the championship after a shaky start against Thomaz Bellucci of Brazil.
Bellucci looked like he was up for the challenge against the Spaniard when he was leading 4-0 in the first set but the Brazilian failed to maintain the rhythm as Nadal won seven of the next nine games.
The second set was a cakewalk for Rafa as he won it 6-2.
Nadal was leading 2-0 in the third and final set before Bellucci once again managed to put some fight as he won the next two games, but his effort wasn’t good enough to stop Nadal, who is seeking his 11th grand slam.
