Indian star attraction Yuki Bhambri made a shock quarterfinal exit going down to top seed Adam Kellner from Hungary in their men’s singles clash in the ITF Men’s F2 Future.

Kolkata: Indian star attraction Yuki Bhambri made a shock quarterfinal exit going down to top seed Adam Kellner from Hungary in their men’s singles clash in the ITF Men’s F2 Future at the South Club clay courts.
Kellner beat sixth seed Bhambri 6-2 6-4 in an 85-minute battle. In the first set Bhambri was broken in the second game but broke back in the third. At 2-2 Kellner won four games in a row breaking Bhambri in sixth and eighth games to clinch the first set. In the second set Bhambri raced to a 4-0 lead breaking Kellner in first and third games but only to go down six straight games to make a last-eight exit of the USD 15,000 prize money tournament.Kellner will take on Qualifier Kaza Vinayak Sharma who produced the upset of the day eliminating seventh seed Ranjeet Virali Murugesan 5-7, 7-6 (7-2) 6-3 to make the semifinals of the ITF Men’s F2 Fixtures. at the South Club clay courts here today. In a battle lasting more than three hours, Sharma went down in the first set but bounced back strongly winning the second via tie-breaker and settled the issue in the third to oust the seventh seed.Third seeds Srirambalajee Narayanswamy and Ashutosh Singh beat N Vijay Sundar Prashanth and Rupesh Roy 6-3 6-4 to make the doubles final.
