The mobile number portability story is headed southwards.
The telecom regulator Thursday said mobile number portability (MNP) will be implemented nationwide from Oct 31, ruling out any further delay.
The government has further delayed the introduction of mobile number portability to end-June, it said on Tuesday, as operators need to be ready for it by upgrading their networks.
Facing pressure from telecom operators, government on Thursday extended the implementation of Mobile Number Portability to 31st march 2010.
Both BSNL and MTNL are set to miss the mobile number portability (MNP) deadline of December 31.
TRAI has sought industry’s opinion and other stakeholders on Mobile Number Portability charges.
