Facing heat on the
controversial police firing on farmers near Pune, Maharashtra
government on Friday suspended two police officers while the
National Human Rights Commission(NHRC) issued a notice to Pune
Police Commissioner and sought a report.
The Maharashtra government has announced a judicial probe into the firing.
The state government has already ordered a judicial probe into the incident and said the guilty will be punished.
Three persons were killed and scores of others injured in police firing in Maval near Pune on Tuesday.
