Alleging that Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar was "hostage" to the mining lobby in the state, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has reiterated its demand to set up a corporation for this industry.
The mining lobby on Wednesday attacked Goa Governor Bharat Veer Wanchoo, calling him an "agent" of the Central government.
Alleging that "mining lobby"
could be behind the attempts to destabilise the BJP government
in Karnataka, senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu Friday said an
investigation would be ordered to bring out the truth over the
Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa made no secret that the mining lobby was
behind attempts to destabilise his government in tandem with
the opposition, but asserted that he would not succumb to any threat.
In a stern warning to the BJP,
RSS leader Madan Das Devi Sunday said the Karnataka government
should not "succumb to the mining lobby and not allow it to
call the shots".
Congress on Friday said the BJP
government in Karnataka should immediately take steps to
persuade Justice Santosh Hegde to reconsider his decision to
resign from the post of Lokayukta in the state.
