One person was killed and 26 others went missing on Friday when a Bangladeshi fishing trawler capsized allegedly after it was hit by a ship in the Bay of Bengal.
A fishing trawler sank after colliding with Navy`s frontline frigate INS Talwar near Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra injuring four of the 27 persons on board the civilian vessel, Navy officials said on Tuesday.
Coast guard spokesman Filippo Marini said the
nationalities of the migrants or the country from which they
set sail had not yet been determined.
The Ametist vessel stopped transmitting daily position reports on Friday.
