A local court has directed the district police to seize nearly 3,000 cattle and hand them over to an organisation that protects them.
City civic body MCD told the Delhi HC that it has framed a set of new norms to ensure that stray cattle, caught by it, are auctioned only after giving sufficient time and opportunity to their owners to reclaim and relocate them.
Stray cattle are clearly not helping Gurgaon, a satellite town of the national capital, to project itself as a Millennium City.
