'Baahubali' books to have a TV series? SS Rajamouli has a plan

The epic drama 'Baahubali' is Indian cinema's biggest ventures made on a huge canvas. S S Rajamouli's magnum opus project has now been translated and presented in a book series. It doesn't stop here, there is a strong possibility that soon it might be seen on the small screens as well.

New Delhi: The epic drama 'Baahubali' is Indian cinema's biggest ventures made on a huge canvas. S S Rajamouli's magnum opus project has now been translated and presented in a book series. It doesn't stop here, there is a strong possibility that soon it might be seen on the small screens as well.

Yes, IANS quotes the filmmaker as saying, "The plan is to make the book into a TV series... not the daily soaps that you get to see. The plan is to make a seasonal show with 10 to 13 episodes." S S Rajamouli told reporters at the launch of 'The Rise of Sivagami', a prequel to the blockbuster 'Baahubali'.

'The Rise of Sivagami' book, has been written by Anand Neelakantan. The man is known for writing fiction books based on the Indian epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata. 

On making a film based on one of the books, the director said,  "His character of Ravana is fantastic. It is very inspirational. But I don't know if I will make a film on it. Apart from the books, he told me one story which is yet to be put on paper. Very intriguing and interesting story. I was quite fascinated by it. So maybe. I want to make it, but let's see."

"I can't reveal that now," he further added, when asked about the storyline. There were multiple reports on him helming "Garuda" or a film based on Mahabharata. 

"I am planning a nice family entertainer called holiday in Bhutan," he added.
