LUCKNOW: The class 1 student who was injured in Brightland School in Lucknow on Wednesday was attacked with a kitchen knife allegedly by a senior school girl. The police have sent the hair of the girl, found on the body of the child, for DNA test.

A student of Class 1 was injured after being attacked allegedly by a girl from a senior class inside the school washroom within the school premises.

The school authorities did not even take note of the mishap on an immediate basis and informed the police a day after the incident took place.

After getting the information, police personnel rushed to the school and sealed the washroom.

The school administration later said that prime facie it seemed that the attack was carried out by a senior wing girl student.

Soon after the incident, Ritik was rushed to Devki hospital, which referred him to trauma centre for further treatment. The school has claimed that the student is out of danger.

The father of the victim, who works as a peon in the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court, said that he was informed by the school authorities about his son getting hurt. Thereafter he sent his wife to school, who later discovered that her son was attacked with a sharp object.

In its defence, the school administration has claimed that the parents were immediately informed about the happening and the student was also rushed to Devaki hospital without any delay.

School administration official Reena Manas added that there are 70 CCTV cameras in the school premises and they are being scanned for any clue.

According to her, the student has said that a senior girl student took her to the washroom and attacked him.
