Para-swimmer Satyendra Singh brings glory to nation after becoming the first para-swimmer to cross the English Channel. The Madhya Pradesh-born also became the first Asian to achieve this feat. He covered the 34 km-long distance in 12 hours, 26 minutes. He was in a company of three others, namely Chetan Raut (Maharashtra), Rimo Saha (Bengal) and Jagdish Chandra (Rajasthan)
