India announces 2 lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccines for UN peacekeepers
India has so far sent COVID-19 vaccines to 25 nations and in coming days will be supplying vaccines to 49 more countries. Around 60 per cent of the global COVID-19 vaccines are produced in India and in 2020 amid the pandemic, it sent medicines to 150 countries. During his address, EAM put forward nine points for the world to put "COVID-19 pandemic decisively behind us and to emerge more resilient".

Addressing the UN Security Council, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stated that India will provide 200,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to UN Peacekeepers as a gift. "Keeping in mind UN Peacekeepers, we would like to announce today a gift of 200,000 vaccine doses for them," he added.

International passengers coming HERE must produce RT-PCR negative certificate
The state on February 15 clocked 368 new coronavirus cases and two deaths, taking the infection count and toll to 9,45,638 and 12,267 respectively. According to a department bulletin, a total of 9,26,664 people were discharged so far, including 430 on Monday.

Centre says 4 detected with South Africa variant of COVID-19 in India
All travellers and contacts have been tested and quarantined. "The ICMR-NIV is attempting to isolate and culture the SA variant strain from the samples of these four individual returnees," he said. One Brazil returnee has tested positive for the Brazil variant of SARS-CoV-2 in the first week of February.

Half of Indians may have had coronavirus by February, estimates govt panel
At least half of India`s 1.3 billion people are likely to have been infected with the new coronavirus by next February, helping slow the spread of the disease. A member of a federal government committee tasked with providing projections said on Monday. India has so far reported 7.55 million cases of the coronavirus and is second only to the United States in terms of total infections.

Tamil Nadu becomes second state in India to surpass 10,000 COVID-19 deaths
As per the state government data, the recovery rate is over 90%, with 5,86,454 persons having recovered, out of the total of 6,40,943 infected persons. As per the data furnished by the Union Health Ministry, Maharashtra is the only other state to have surpassed 10,000 deaths, prior to Tamil Nadu.

A total of 58 CRPF jawan died of the coronavirus COVID-19 infection till Wednesday. On Wednesday, a total of 82 new COVID-19 positive cases, 234 discharges, and a death were reported from various units. They have been kept in isolation centres for treatment.

School reopening in Delhi postponed amid rising COVID-19 cases: Check new date

The schools across the country were closed since March 2020 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. Prohibitory orders in Mumbai extended till September 30 amid COVID-19 cases
In view of rising cases of coronavirus COVID-19, the Mumbai Police have extended prohibitory orders restricting the movement of people in the city till September 30. However, no new restrictions have been imposed, the police stressed. An official statement on September 16 read, "...it is considered expedient to issue prohibitory order for restricting any presence or movement of one or more persons..."

Delhi records highest single-day spike in COVID-19 cases
The national capital recorded 4,039 fresh COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, the highest single-day spike so far. This is the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic that over 4,000 cases have been recorded in Delhi within 24 hours. Twenty fatalities have been recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the latest bulletin issued by the Delhi health department.
