Last month, special judge for cases under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) M G Deshpande had allowed Goyal (74) to undergo medical tests by private doctors.

Goyal, nabbed on September 1, 2023 in connection with a money-laundering case, is currently in judicial custody and lodged at the Arthur Road Central Jail (ARCJ), as his bail plea is pending.

This action is part of an ongoing money laundering investigation involving M/s Jet Airways (India) Limited (JIL), which ceased to its operations in April 2019 after 26 years of service due to financial troubles. 

Jalan Kalrock Consortium also said it is expecting the Jet Airways airline to be up and running next year with the launch date likely to be announced in the next few days.

IATA said the two-letter designator and numeric codes will remain blocked for 12 months, during which Go First can ask for the reinstatement of the designator if the requirements are met.

The case is based on an FIR registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) earlier in May this year.

Naresh Goyal founded Jet Airways in 1993. Under his leadership, the airline gained a reputation for its high-quality service and efficient operations. Jet Airways quickly expanded its domestic and international routes, becoming one of India's premier airlines.
