Ajinkya Rahane says Team India not bad against short ball
Insisting that Indians are not bad players of short-ball, Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane on Wednesday said the team's bad run in New Zealand was largely due to the wind factor. Rahane, who had scores of 46, 29 (in Wellington) and 7, 9 (in Christchurch), said the criticism that they do not play short-ball well, does not hold any merit.

Ajinkya Rahane's plan to counter New Zealand pacers in 2nd Test
India batsman Ajinkya Rahane has a strategy to tackle New Zealand fast bowlers who had blown away the visiting team's batsmen batters in the first Test at Wellingtion. Rahane plans to face the New Zealand pace battery with more intent in the second Test and his foolproof strategy includes countering the awkward angles which became a nightmare for Indian batsmen during the first Test at the Basin Reserve in Wellington which the Virat Kohli-led team lost in just over three days by 10 wickets.

India's triumph over New Zealand in the fifth and final T20 International against New Zealand at Mount Maunganui on Sunday (February 2, 2020) was marred by the news of the International Cricket Council (ICC) penalising the Men in Blue 20 per cent of their match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate. Chris Broad of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction after India were ruled to be one over short of the target after time allowances were taken into consideration.
