Bharat Taxi Driver Benefits: Users can choose from AC, Premium, non-AC, and XL cabs. The app promises fast pickups, often within two minutes, and competitive fares. The minimum fare is Rs 30 for up to 4 km.  

The strike has been announced by the Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union (TGPWU), with support from several labour groups working with app-based drivers across the country. The union says the move is aimed at highlighting concerns over fare structures and what it describes as inadequate regulation in the ride-hailing sector.

In a letter addressed to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, the Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union (TGPWU) flagged what it described as long-pending and unresolved issues affecting app-based drivers across the country.

The stock fell to Rs 32.92 as of 2:25 pm, down Rs 2.81 or 7.86 per cent, marking the biggest intra-day drop since December 16, 2025. The decline came amid a broader market dip as the Nifty was at 25,378.10, down 0.81 per cent.

The stock has also dropped more than 50 per cent from its IPO price of Rs 76 per share.

This new service is being developed by the Ministry of Cooperation and the National e-Governance Division (NeGD). The goal is to ensure that drivers get to keep all the money they earn, rather than paying big commissions to private companies.  

Ola, Uber, Rapido Peak Hour Pricing: The Passenger will not incur a separate charge for dead mileage unless the total trip is under 3 km. In all other cases, the fare will apply only to the distance between the pickup and drop-off points. 

Many feel this puts pressure on them and gives drivers more control over ride acceptance, the reports added. 

This marks a significant drop of over 80 per cent from Ola’s peak valuation of $7.3 billion in 2021.

The new development is considered a huge setback for bike taxi aggregator app Rapido.

Unlike private ride-hailing companies, Sahkar Taxi will ensure that drivers receive the full profit instead of big corporations, Amit Shah said. 

Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal’s new reporting requirement echoes a policy introduced by Billionaire Elon Musk, who recently mandated that US federal employees must submit weekly accomplishment reports in bullet points.   

However, the electric mobility aggregator claimed that the service issues have been fixed and it continues to focus on growing its presence in the electric two-wheeler market.  

Ola and Uber have been asked to provide their responses to the notices.  

Ola Electric Mobility Share: Anshul Khandelwal and Suvonil Chatterjee have been integral to Ola’s journey under Bhavish Aggarwal’s leadership. Suvonil Chatterjee joined Ola as Head of Design in 2017, while Anshul Khandelwal began in 2018 as Head of Marketing.

The expansion spans beyond metros and Tier I and II cities into smaller towns and tehsils, Ola Electric said in a statement.

A viral video featuring an Uber bike rider from Bengaluru has caught the attention of many online.

Along with Ola Electric, registration of electric two-wheelers of TVS Motor declined by 13 per cent on a month-on-month (MoM) basis.

Due to the steep decline, the market cap of the company has been reduced by Rs 38,000 crore. The market cap had reached an all-time high of around Rs 69,000 crore, which has come down to around Rs 31,000 crore. 

The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has also ordered a comprehensive probe into the EV company over its consumer complaint redressal practices.
