Central government is likely to increase dearness allowance (DA) for its over one crore employees and pensioners. The hike may be 4% to 42% from existing 38%. Last revision in DA was done on September 28, 2022, which was effective from July 1, 2022.

The objective of a common pension portal is to create a single window digital mechanism for pensioners to raise grievances. All ministries responsible to process, sanction or disburse pension dues are interlinked to this system. Grievances are forwarded after assessment to the concerned ministry or department for resolution, Singh said.

Central Government pensioners/family pensioners shall be increased from the existing rate of 17 percent to 28 percent of the basic pension/ family pension with effect from July 1, 2021. The increased rates of Dearness Relief (DR) will be applicable to Civilian Central Government Pensioners/ Family Pensioners including Central Government absorbed pensioners in PSU/ Autonomous Bodies. The Armed Forces pensioners/ family Pensioners and Civilian Pensioners/ Family Pensioners paid out of the Defence Service Estimates.
