New Delhi: Days ahead of crucial Assembly Elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday expressed optimism that the party would gain victory in the polls.
Addressing a press conference, BJP`s senior leaders, Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj, said the BJP would form a government in the national capital with a sizable majority. Delhi will go to the polls on December 04.
Hitting out at Aam Aadmi Party, which is making a debut in the upcoming polls, Swaraj said that people don`t want to waste votes on AAP.
Anti-Congress wave, a swing towards the BJP and better coordination at the booth level will ensure that BJP forms a government in Delhi with a sizable majority, added Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj.
In the meantime, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley said Congress has even stopped trying to fight in the Delhi polls. The national leadership has almost abandoned campaigns, added Jaitley.
Expressing confidence, Jaitley said the BJP is putting up a united fight in Delhi and it`s clear that Congress will lose.
Earlier, Vijay Goel, the BJP`s Delhi unit chief, said the BJP rose issues such as power tariff, electricity, water, women security during its campaign to woo the electorate. There is wave against the Congress and the AAP is in dreamland, added Goel.
