Minor gang-raped by local youths in UP

Muzaffarnagar: A 12-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by two local youths in nearby Shamli district, police said on Friday.

The victim had gone to collect water from a public hand-pump in Hindwada village early morning yesterday when two youths took her to a nearby vacant plot and gang-raped her, they said. The victim was later found unconscious in a semi-clad state, police said. Akbar (25), who was identified as one of the accused, has been arrested in this connection, they said, adding that an investigation is on. PTI
