AAP sting operation: Nutan Thakur quits, Sisodia says concerned about active volunteers

Expressing unhappiness over the AAP sting operation, Nutan Thakur, member from Lucknow, today resigned from the party.

Zee Media Bureau New Delhi: Ahead of the crucial Assembly Elections, a huge controversy has erupted after few members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) were allegedly found involved in a sting operation. While expressing unhappiness over the issue, Nutan Thakur, member from Lucknow, today resigned from the party. "I have resigned from the party after I saw the way the party handled the sting operation," she said. Thakur said that she was not holding any post in the party and was just a member. Reacting to Nutan`s resignation, AAP spokesperson Manish Sisodia said the party was more concerned about those volunteers or members who have been working on the field day and night. "Such people (like Thakur) should leave the party, because they have not actively participated in the party`s activities," he said. The sting operation on six candidates of the party, including AAP`s candidate Shazia Ilmi and leader Kumar Vishwas, also accuses the party of selling Badarpur constituency seat for Rs 2 crore. In the video, Ilmi, the AAP candidate from south Delhi`s RK Puram, is allegedly seen demanding Rs 25 lakh for participating in an agitation. The video purportedly showed a reporter meeting Ilmi posing as a representative of a company and sought her help to teach a lesson to a rival company.
