Belaganj Assembly constituency falls under Gaya district of Bihar and is a part of the Gaya (SC) Lok Sabha constituency. Total number of electorates in the constituency are 2,35,171; of these 1,24,496 are males and 1,10,668 are females. Belaganj seat comprises Kendua, Kesaru Dharampur, Naili, Amraha, Kaler, Chakand, Aurwan, Madan Bigha, Katari, Rasalpur, Ghutiya, Bara, Kujapi, Korma, Kandi, Churi and Kujap gram panchayats of Gaya Town community development block; and Belaganj community development block as recommended by the Delimitation Commission of India in 2008. Belaganj's current MLA is RJD's Surendra Prasad Yadav. He had won the constituency by winning 53,079 votes in 2010 elections. Communist Party of India's Kumar Jitendra, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular)'s Sharim Ali, Rashtriya Janata Dal's Surendra Prasad Yadav, Samajwadi Party's Sardar Mathura Yadav, and Bahujan Samaj Party's Shekh Ayub are the key candidates this time.
