New Delhi: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday slammed Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for snapping ties with the Grand Alliance and joining hands with the BJP.
Gandhi, whose party was part of the Grand Alliance in Bihar that was deserted by Kumar's JD(U) last evening, said that he was aware that it was being planned for the last three-four months.
"We were aware of what was going on from last three-four months. This is the problem with Indian politics. For the sake of power and personal gains, they compromise with anything," Gandhi told reporters outside Parliament.
"Bihar had given an anti-communal mandate but Nitish Kumar has gone back to them (the BJP) for his personal political gains," added Gandhi.
His remarks came soon after Nitish Kumar took oath as Chief Minister of Bihar for the sixth time.
He added there were no rules and credibility in the Indian politics.
