Shimla: Concerned over being dragged into unnecessary controversies, Bollywood actresses Kangana Ranaut and Aarti Chhabria have categorically denied having any connection with terror suspect David Headley. Their clarification comes amid speculation that Headley had met –some say dated – two Bollywood actresses; with the finger being pointed towards Kangana and Aarti. Both the hotties were supposed to have been introduced to David by Mahesh Bhatt’s bodybuilder son Rahul.
Refuting the reports of her links with Headley, Kangana wrote on her blog, "I am deeply disturbed by the irresponsible media reports that have unnecessarily dragged my name into a controversy to gain TRPs. I plan to take strong legal action against the channel that has started such a baseless story and is trying to damage my credibility, and cause emotional distress to my family, friends, fans and me."
The ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’ star Aarti Chhabria has gone one step ahead and lodged a complaint with the Mumbai police commissioner, asking him to investigate the "malicious and false buzz."
Her advocate Hitesh Jain said, “False allegations are being made that Aarti Chhabria knew David Headley or dated him.” In fact, Chahabria says that although she used to work out at the Moksha gym but doesn’t know Rahul, who is an instructor there.
Jain said the rumours seek to malign Chhabria`s reputation. He said the police must “immediately investigate as to who is spreading these rumours and take action”, as they have caused her "tremendous mental and physical agony.” She said she was "willing to cooperate with the investigating agency if required.”
My daughter has no links with Headley, says Kangana’s father
On the other hand, Kangana’s father, on Thursday strongly denied the actress’ link with the man suspected of involvement in the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai. "My daughter (Kangana) has no links with Lashkar aide David Headley. She never met nor spoke to Headley. We are really disturbed after such allegations were leveled against her," he said.
Kangana’s family is settled at Bhambla village near Hamirpur town of Himachal Pradesh, some 200 km from state capital Shimla. "We are consulting lawyers in this regard. We will take legal action against those who are spreading rumours (about her link with Headley)," he further added.
Asked about Kangna`s acquaintance with filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt`s son Rahul, Amardeep said, "She has worked in some of Mahesh Bhatt`s films, but she has never met Rahul."
Rahul has been questioned as a witness in the Headley investigation, as Headley used Rahul`s south Mumbai gym during his stay in the city a few days before the 26/11 attack.
