Katherine Heigl`s daughter mistaken as her niece

London: Hollywood star Katherine Heigl`s adopted South Korean daughter is often mistaken for her niece on family outings because the actress` sister also hails from the Asian nation.

The `Ugly Truth` star became a first-time mother last September when she and her husband Josh Kelley welcomed little Naleigh into the family. The 31-year-old actress was inspired to take in a child from the country by her parents, who adopted her older sister Meg from South Korea. "We chose a Korean baby because of my sister and to this day my sister is so amazing with her. I love that my niece and nephew, who are half-Korean, have a Korean cousin. We`re a family of Koreans! It`s beautiful and it`s wonderful," said Heigl. But when Heigl and her sister are together in family gatherings it gets a bit confusing for onlookers, reported a news website. "I think people look at us sometimes and they think Naleigh is my sister`s child, or they think my sister and I are a couple and these are our children. I just love that, because I like surprising people. I like reminding myself that it`s unusual to others, because to me it`s not," said Heigl. PTI
