London: Hollywood actor Ewan McGregor has called Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski `tiring` as the French filmmaker demands a lot in terms of performance on the
sets of his movies.
The Scottish actor worked with the 76-year-old director in his latest movie `Ghostwriter` and found him a hard taskmaster who is very sure of what he wants.
"He asks for a lot. He knows exactly what he does there. And just because he himself was an actor he is not soft. The opposite: Because he knows how it works he asks for more," McGregor said.
"He is a director with all his heart and soul. It is his movie. We just play tiny roles in it. He has everything in his hands," he added.
The 38-year-old actor also admitted that he felt sorry for Polanski`s children, over his detention in Switzerland due to a US arrest warrant over the 1977 conviction for unlawful
sex with an underage girl.
"I don`t want to say anything about it. It doesn`t affect my work with Polanski. I was shocked hearing about his arrest because I like him and I don`t want to imagine him sitting in jail. And I am sorry for his children," McGregor said.
