Health officials give clean chit to hospital where Beyonce’s baby was born

Washington: Health officials have cleared the hospital where Beyonce’s baby was born, of any wrongdoing, after media reports said that the establishment had gone overboard with security and caused inconvenience to other parents.Beyonce had delivered her child, Blue Ivy Carter, on January 7 at New York’s Lennox Hill hospital and some parents had alleged that, due to the event, they were unable to see their own children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as it was on the same floor as the singer’s ‘suite’.
“Staff spoke with the hospital [and] determined there were no violations,” Michael Moran, a representative for the New York State Health Department, was quoted as saying in an email. He added that they haven’t received any complaints and ‘no investigation is ongoing’ but said he couldn’t speculate on whether an investigation would be launched if formal complaints were filed with the department. Meanwhile, Lennox Hill Hospital shot down reports that Beyonce and Jay-Z had paid 1.3 million dollars for a luxury baby delivery suite. In a statement it said that, while the family “does have its own security detail,” the hospital has “made every effort to ensure minimal disruption to other families experiencing the births of their own children over the past three days.” It also insisted that “no security plan that we or the Carter’s security team put in place would have prevented or delayed families from gaining access to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.” ANI
